About Owatonna United Methodist Church
Owatonna United Methodist Church is a warm and welcoming intergenerational family of faith. We seek to follow the teaching of Christ to love others as we would love ourselves.
Our vision is to invite, care for, and reach out to all.
We value and act upon the importance of mission in our local and global communities.
We offer Christ that all might have life and have it abundantly.

Owatonna was only two years old when Rev. Solomon Wetzel, a circuit rider preacher, was sent to this area. He traveled by horseback to service the handful of worshipers who organized the Methodist Church on October 8, 1856.
Our church is recognized as the oldest congregation in the city.

For over 150 years, God has called us to be
witnesses to the saving love of Jesus Christ, as we
“Gather in Christ’s Name . . . Grow in God’s Love . . . Serve All People”.
There’s a place for you here . . . you’ll be among friends.
